Departmental Scale and Capability

Today, ESE brings together 18 faculty members and a large, growing student body, with capabilities spanning quantum technologies, semiconductor and nanoelectronics, VLSI design, intelligent systems, communications, embedded and IoT systems, power and energy systems, healthcare electronics, and cyber-physical infrastructure. Over roughly the past decade, the department has helped raise and shape funding on the order of hundreds of crores across faculty groups and mission-oriented programs, while building the intellectual and infrastructural base for future growth.
